The seventh Porkapalooza takes place on Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30, 2021.
As COVID-19 continues to create challenges for in-person gatherings, the Porkapalooza board of directors has made the difficult but necessary decision to close the 2021 BBQ to the public, as the health situation still appears dire less than a month before the competition.
This year’s competition will feature 26 Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) teams. For the sake of safety, we are asking only authorized personnel to visit the site. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding, as our teams and judges are required to adhere to strict COVID-19 protocols.
While our valued public guests will not be able to attend this year, social media followers can still participate in current and upcoming Facebook and Twitter contests to build excitement as the 2021 BBQ approaches, and looking toward 2022, when we hope to return to a more normal, ideal situation, with guests welcomed back.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Porkapalooza over the past six editions!
